Subordinate clauses/ fronted adverbial phrases


In 793 AD, on the South coast, we decided to build the ‘Dragon’ longship. Ruhban

Using timber and wool, we built our thirty metre long longship.    Harry

After powering through the storms on the rough sea, we arrived at the English island of Lindisfarne.  Arran


With a heavy heart, I decided not to burn down the monastery at Lindisfarne.  Jack

We set sail.  

Who can add an adverbial phrase? How, when or where did you set sail?

  10. Great vocabulary Hamzah. You actually have a few subordinate clauses here and still need a main clause on the end to make it into a grammatically correct sentence!
